RideSuite Vehicle Types

Before you can begin using RideSuite, you will need to add your vehicles to the platform and organise them by type. Vehicle types are determined by capacity, class and category using the standard classification system described below. Using a common standard is crucial when importing agency bookings or collaborating with transport partners.

Our tried and tested classification system is compatible with all major transport booking agencies. Speak to a member of our team for assistance with classifying your fleet.

Categories

Vehicles of different capacities, but with similar characteristics are grouped together as follows:

• Taxi: vehicles licensed as a taxi with capacity of 1 to 4
• Car: cars with capacity of 1 to 4
  
• Limo: limousines or stretch vehicles with capacity of 4 to 19
• MPV: Multi-purpose vehicles with capacity of 2 to 6
• SUV: Sports Utility Vehicles with capacity of 2 to 6
• Taxivan: vehicles licensed as a taxi with capacity of 3 to 8
  
• Minivan: vans with capacity of 3 to 8 
• Minibus: vehicles with capacity of 7 to 19
• Midicoach: vehicles with capacity of 20 to 35
• Coach: vehicles with capacity of 36 to 99
• Shuttle: shared vehicles with unspecified capacity 

Classes

RideSuite recognises four vehicle type classes:

• Economy: sometimes called Low Cost
• Select: sometimes called Regular or Standard
• Premium: sometimes called Business or Executive
• Luxury: sometimes called VIP or First Class
  

Vehicle Type Codes   

Each vehicle type is identified using a structured code that combines:

• Capacity
• Vehicle Type Group [ClassCode] + [CategoryCode]

Premium Limo	clm	4-19	A recent model pristine condition premium vehicle less than 4 years old.		Chrysler 300C Executive, Cadillac XTS Stretch Limo, Dodge Charger Limo.
Luxury Limo	dlm	4-19	A recent model immaculately-presented luxury vehicle less than 4 years old.		Rolls-Royce Phantom Stretch Limo, Bentley Mulsanne Stretch Limo, Mercedes-Benz S-Class Pullman, Hummer H2 Luxury Stretch Limo.
Economy MPV	amp	2-6	A clean and well-maintained vehicle less than 10 years old.		Smaller or basic specification MPVs (such as Dacia Lodgy) and higher class models more than 6 years old.

Luxury SUV	dsu	2-6	A recent model immaculately-presented luxury vehicle less than 4 years old.		Mercedes-Benz GLS, BMW X7, Cadillac Escalade ESV, Bentley Bentayga.

Premium Minibus	cmb	7-19	A recent model pristine condition premium minibus less than 6 years old.		Mercedes Sprinter and high specification VW Crafter or similar models, typically with tinted windows and/or leather seats.
Luxury Minibus	dmb	7-19	A recent model immaculately-presented luxury minibus less than 6 years old.		Strictly limited to top specification Mercedes Sprinter models.
Economy Midicoach	ach	20-35	A clean and well-maintained minicoach less than 20 years old.	Older model minicoaches	Basic specification minicoaches, or those with prominent branding. Also older higher class model minicoaches.
Select Midicoach	bch	20-35	A clean, well-maintained and nicely presented minicoach less than 10 years old.		Modern minicoaches with minimal slogans or branding.
Premium Midicoach	cch	20-35	A recent model pristine condition premium minicoach less than 8 years old.		Newer minicoaches with only discreet branding, and with features such as tinted windows and/or leather seats.
Luxury Midicoach	dch	20-35	A recent model immaculately-presented luxury minicoach less than 6 years old.		Luxuriously finished minicoaches for VIP clients.
Economy Coach	ach	36-99	A clean and well-maintained coach less than 20 years old.	Older model coaches	Basic specification coaches, or those with prominent branding. Also older higher class model coaches.

Express Shuttle	xsh	1-99	A clean and well-maintained minibus less than 12 years old.		Any minibus or coach brand, but excludes buses.
