Setting up My Vehicle Types

Setting up My Vehicle Types

Vehicle types are a way to categorise actual fleet vehicles for pricing and booking purposes. It doesn't necessarily match the actual capacity, but all vehicles must have at least that capacity. So, for example, you have bought three new 16-seater minibuses with leather seats, but with all the seats fitted there is not room for 16 passengers luggage. You therefore decide to create a vehicle type with a maximum capacity of 12. Your composite vehicle type code will be 12cmb.

Vehicles can be in more than one category. An 8 seater minivan could be used for jobs requiring vehicle type 06bmv or 08bmv.

Our vehicle types are designed to be universal. It should be possible to match the vehicle types used by any agency with the standard set of vehicle types configurable within RideSuite.

Steps to Add Fleet Vehicle Types

  1. Navigate to the Configuration tab in the left-hand menu.
  2. Click on My Vehicle Types.

Choosing Vehicle Size

First, select from a list of vehicle sizes based on maximum passenger capacity. Vehicles with similar characteristics but different capacities are grouped together:

  • Taxi: Vehicles licensed as taxis, with a capacity of 3 or 4 passengers.
  • Car: Non-taxi vehicles with a capacity of 3 or 4 passengers.
  • Taxivan: Vehicles licensed as taxis, with a capacity of 5 to 8 passengers.
  • Minivan: Vehicles with a capacity of 5 to 8 passengers.
  • Minibus: Vehicles with a capacity of 9 to 19 passengers.
  • Coach: Vehicles with a capacity of 20 to 99 passengers.
  • Shuttle: Shared vehicles with an unspecified capacity.

Choosing Vehicle Class

Next, choose a vehicle class within the selected size. RideSuite recognises four vehicle classes:

  • Economy: Low-cost options.
  • Select: Standard or regular vehicles.
  • Premium: Business or executive vehicles.
  • Luxury: VIP-level vehicles.

After selecting the size and class, choose the vehicles from the available list and add them to your fleet by clicking the arrows.
